Can I use any engine oil in my hybrid car?

Not necessarily. Many hybrids require low-viscosity oil such as 0W-16, 0W-20, or 5W-30., and it’s best not to use standard engine oil in your hybrid unless specifically recommended by the manufacturer. The consequences of using the wrong oil can be reduced fuel efficiency, increased wear of parts, and – over time – engine damage.

The best thing to do if you need to top up the engine oil in your hybrid is to check the owner’s manual for the manufacturer’s recommendations; there it will tell you the best oil for your car.
