A warning light’s come on. Can I still drive my EV or hybrid?

It depends on the light, and on your car. Some warnings mean it’s fine to carry on to your nearest safe stop, others mean you shouldn’t drive at all. If you’re not sure, it’s always safer to get it checked before you set off rather than risk further damage, or your safety, on the road.

My hybrid’s making a strange noise. What could that be?

An unusual noise from a hybrid could be coming from the conventional engine side, the electric drivetrain, or somewhere more routine like the brakes or suspension. Because a hybrid combines both systems, it’s worth having it looked at by technicians trained on both, rather than a garage that only knows one side of it.

Do I need to go to a different garage for repairs, servicing and my MOT?

No. Castle Garage EV carries out all of it under one roof: MOTs, routine servicing that protects your manufacturer warranty, diagnostic testing, and mechanical and electrical repairs. There’s no need to split your car’s care across two garages, or worry that a repair somewhere else might affect your warranty cover elsewhere.

What kind of repairs can you carry out?

Our EV bay is equipped with Sealey rubber-tipped tools and PicoScope diagnostic software, and our technicians are trained specifically on high-voltage systems. That covers everything from battery health checks and drivetrain issues to the more everyday mechanical work, brakes, suspension, exhausts, that hybrids and EVs still need just like any other car.
